Yobe:Buni Dissolves LG Caretaker Mgmt Cttee Chairmen

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, has on Thursday approved the dissolution of the Chairmen Management Caretaker Committee of the 17 Local Government Council of the State.

This is contained in a statement signed by the secretary to yobe state government,Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali and made available to newsmen in damaturu

According to the statement,the dissolution of the council caretaker chairmen was followed  the expiration of the Six (6) Month tenure in Office  today 11th May, 2023. 

"In view of the above therefore,all Chairmen Caretaker Management Committee are to hand Over the affairs of their respective Local Government Councils to the Directors Personnel Management",the statement added.

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  As part of its ongoing mission to support education, the Madakin Gudi Foundation has cleared five months’ stipends for 167 volunteer teachers across twenty-one schools in the Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State. A team from the Foundation mandated to carry out the payment set out in the early hours of Wednesday, 11th March 2026, visiting each of the 21 schools for the exercise.  The team first visited the Chana community and later proceeded to Godowoli and other villages, ending the exercise in Gadaka. Three volunteers in each of the schools were given the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira to cover their monthly stipends. Yobe L-PRES Project Hands Over Livestock Market to Geidam Community

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), a World Bank-funded program, has commissioned and handed over a modern livestock market to the Geidam local government area of Yobe State.  The market, located at the Nigeria-Niger border, is expected to boost livestock trade between the two countries and create jobs. The market covers a 400m x 400m area, with features including perimeter fencing, gates, security outpost, veterinary clinic, administrative block, solar-powered boreholes, and drinking points. Other amenities include loading and off-loading ramps, toilets, and a livestock weighing scale. Project Coordinator Adama Hussaini Madaki said the market would strengthen livestock trade and improve revenue generation. Yobe APC Exco Receive National Party Chairman Ganduje
