Yobe Tailoring Association Dissolves Exerc Members

The Tailoring Association Of Nigeria,Yobe state Chapter has on Saturday dissolved  its state executive council mermbers under the caretaker chairman,Ahmad Alhaji Madu Maikwano.

Briefing journalist at the NUJ secretariat in damaturu,the Secretary of the 7-man Committee members constituted by the association,Mr Ishaku Adamu said,sequel to the meeting held on 15h March,2023 of all chairmen and secretaries of
the 17 local government areas of Yobe State Tailoring Association in Damaturu,the state capital assemble at the office of Yobe State Organised Trade Union Association have unanimously resolved and signed for the dissolution of the state executive council members under the caretaker chairman Ahmad Alhaji Madu Maikwano.

Mr Ishaku stated that,Seven-man committee were constituted to run the affairs of the Association for the period of 3 Months after which election would be conducted positions of the state executive council would be allocated based on zones across the state for interested persons to contest in order to give room for equal participation and representations

He further revealed that,the 7-man committee members constituted are;Alhaji Yakubu Tela, Chairman,Shugaba Tela,Sani Tela,Hamisu Yakubu,Modu Kawu Tela,Mohammed Idriss Naijeeb, members and Ishaku Adamu as secretary of the Committee


He noted that,the dissolution its based on the leadership of the state executive council has been under caretakers for the period of nine (9) years against the Associations constitution.

The Committee secretary Maintained that,the association under the leadership of the dissolved caretaker state chairman within the period accrued debt the sum of  ₦4,600,000 without due consultation,proper
record and procedure of financial regulation of the Association.

According to him,the Association has been run by the dissolved caretaker chairman as sole administrator adding that,the Association under the leadership of he dissolved  caretaker chairman within the period of his leadership has never conducted executive meeting with the entire local government chairmen as  stipulated in the Association constitution that the state Council to conduct quarterly meeting with the Association local government chairmen.


"The Association under the leadership of the dissolved caretaker state chairman within the period of his leadership has never organised Congress meeting with its members, Diverted 89 sewing machines out of the 150 given to the Association by Yobe state government as empowerment under the Yobe State Ministry of wealth Creation,only 61 were distributed to the members across the 17 LGAs.

"Copies of the Association's
Constitution are sold to local government chapters against the decision that the constitution of the Association be distributed free of charge.For the period of the 9 years under the dissolved caretaker chairman there is no any financial document or report for the association found or presented at any forum.

The committee secretary said,the 17 local government chairmen of the Association had a meeting on 2/2/2023 and set up a committee under the leadership of Damaturu Tailoring Association
chapter and conducted a consultation tour in the 17 LGAs,where complain were received.

He revealed that some of the complain received are;"the Association under the leadership of the dissolved caretaker state chairman has created crises in the local government chapters by removing executives and nominating whom he wishes without due process (Zone B Tailoring Association leadership crisis).

"Money were extorted from members meant for ID cards until date the Cards has not been produce and the money not refunded.The Association under the leadership of the dissolved caretaker state chairman extorted money from Local Government Association for the purpose of business plan to secure loan but till date no business plan produced explanation or refund of the money on the matter.

"The Association under the leadership of the dissolved caretaker state chairman was using the Association name to seek for assistance,contract from government,politicians and other office holders without the knowledge of members",said the secretary of the 7 man constituted Committee

9 Months After:5,029 Staff Fail to Submit Bio Data Forms in Yobe

Yusuf, Damaturu   A total of 5,029 out of 32,140 staff members in the Yobe State Government workforce have failed to submit their Bio Data forms nine months after the verification exercise in the state.   The Permanent Secretary of the Yobe State Public Service and Chairman of the Committee for the Generation of the Nominal Roll of Yobe State Civil Servants, Dr. Bukar Kilo, disclosed this on Wednesday while presenting the verification report to the State Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara Bularafa.   He stated that 27,111 out of the 32,140 total workforce participated in the exercise, while 5,029 staff members failed to submit their Bio Data forms, raising concerns about the authenticity of the staff records.   To address this issue, the committee has proposed the establishment of a Verification Committee.  According to Dr. Kilo, "The Verification Committee will require all staff who failed to submit thei...
