WPFD:Yobe NUJ Chair thumb up members' hardwork,dedication

The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Yobe Council on wednesday joined it's counterpart globally to celebrate the 2023 World Press Freedom Day which was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in December 1993, following the recommendation of UNESCO's General Conference. 

In a statement issued and signed by the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists Yobe state Council,Comrade Rajab Mohammed also commend  members of the great Union for their hardwork,resilience and dedication to duty for informing, educating and entertaining the people of the state.

According to the statement,celebrate the fundamental principles of press freedom assess the state of press freedom throughout the world,defend the media from attacks on their independence;
and pay tribute to journalists who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Comrade Rajab Maintained the State  Council of the Union will continue to support in ensuring credible information dissemination as well as protecting  members in the state.

"3th of May,the anniversary of the declaration of Windhoek is celebrated worldwide as World Press Freedom Day.
A1fter 30 years,the historic connection made between the freedom to seek, impart and receive information and the public good remains as relevant as it was at the time of its signing".
