May 29:Gov.Buni empowers 340 Orphans,widows in Yobe

As part of the efforts to assist the less privilege persons in the society,Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has Saturday doles out fifty thousand naira cash and additional ten thousand naira for transportation to each Orphan out of the 340 Orphans who were drawn from across the Seventeen Local Government Areas of the state.
The cash disbursement ceremony took place at the events center of Government House Damaturu.
Speaking during the event,Governor Mai Mala Buni said,the welfare of Orphans and Widows should be considered as topmost priority by all and sundry.
Buni noted that the effects of Boko Haram is still bedeviling people especially women who lost their husbands and those left with Orphans.
He emphasised the need for wealthy individuals in the society to complement the State Government's efforts of assisting Orphans, Widows and other vulnerable persons in the society.
In his remarks,Ustaz Baba Gana M. Kyari who spoke on behalf of the Chairman Inaugural Sub-Committee Barr. Saleh Samanja said this is the sixth phase of Orphans and Widows assistance exercise being conducted under Governor Buni's administration.
According to him, each orphan would be given the sum of fifty thousand naira for the support and additional ten thousand naira each for his or her transportation.
