Yobe Assembly Confirms Khalid Abba Umaru as Chairman Caretaker Karasuwa LGA

Yobe state House of Assembly has on Tuesday,30th May 2023 confirmed the appointment of the nominees,Khalid Abba Umaru as chairman caretaker management committee for Karasuwa Local government area to replace late Alhaji Lawan Gana Karasuwa in order to run the affairs of the local governments councils' for the period of six months.

TIt could be recalled that having earlier confirmed the appointment of late Alhaji Lawan Gana Karasuwa  as chairman caretaker Committee Karasuwa LGA by the state house of assembly is now late.

Subsequently upon his demise and after due consultations with various stakeholders of Karasuwa local government, Khalid Abba Umaru was unanimously recommended by Yobe state Governor for appointment as caretaker Management Committee, Karasuwa LGA.

The Leader of the House Hon, Bukar Mustapha moved the motion seeking for the confirmation of the nominee which was presented by the executive arm of government.

Presiding over the plenary,the speaker of the House Rt Hon, Ahmed Lawan mirwa  confirmed the and charged him to work hard to justify the confidence reposed on him.

The House also condoled Yobe state Government,People of karasuwa and the families of late Mohammed Bukar zoto and that of karasuwa local government  chairman caretaker management committee,late Alhaji Lawan Gana Karasuwa over their lost.

A team from the Foundation mandated to carry out the payment set out in the early hours of Wednesday, 11th March 2026, visiting each of the 21 schools for the exercise.  The team first visited the Chana community and later proceeded to Godowoli and other villages, ending the exercise in Gadaka. Three volunteers in each of the schools were given the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira to cover their monthly stipends. Yobe L-PRES Project Hands Over Livestock Market to Geidam Community

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), a World Bank-funded program, has commissioned and handed over a modern livestock market to the Geidam local government area of Yobe State.  The market, located at the Nigeria-Niger border, is expected to boost livestock trade between the two countries and create jobs. The market covers a 400m x 400m area, with features including perimeter fencing, gates, security outpost, veterinary clinic, administrative block, solar-powered boreholes, and drinking points. Other amenities include loading and off-loading ramps, toilets, and a livestock weighing scale. Project Coordinator Adama Hussaini Madaki said the market would strengthen livestock trade and improve revenue generation. Yobe APC Exco Receive National Party Chairman Ganduje
