Buni approves 40% payment of work plan based Projects In Yobe

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has on Wednesday approved the release of the sum of N765, 908,545.85 for the final payment of work plans based Projects
across the 17 Local Government Areas in the state.

This is  contained in a Press statement by the Information Officer of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhassan Sule  Mamudo and made available to newsmen in damaturu.

According to the statement,the Permanent Secretary Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Alh. Ali Mustapha said,this was done after 60% completion of the work in the 2022 work action
plan.

"This was done after the committee on Local Government budget for the year 2023 which scrutinized and prioritise various developmental projects across the 17 LGAs in the state",the ministry's Permanent secretary.

While thanking Governor Mai Mala Buni for graciously approving the fund,the permanent secretary assured that the ministry will monitor and supervise all the projects to ensure quality of projects as well as value for money on the projects under reference.

A team from the Foundation mandated to carry out the payment set out in the early hours of Wednesday, 11th March 2026, visiting each of the 21 schools for the exercise.  The team first visited the Chana community and later proceeded to Godowoli and other villages, ending the exercise in Gadaka. Three volunteers in each of the schools were given the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira to cover their monthly stipends. Yobe L-PRES Project Hands Over Livestock Market to Geidam Community

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), a World Bank-funded program, has commissioned and handed over a modern livestock market to the Geidam local government area of Yobe State.  The market, located at the Nigeria-Niger border, is expected to boost livestock trade between the two countries and create jobs. The market covers a 400m x 400m area, with features including perimeter fencing, gates, security outpost, veterinary clinic, administrative block, solar-powered boreholes, and drinking points. Other amenities include loading and off-loading ramps, toilets, and a livestock weighing scale. Project Coordinator Adama Hussaini Madaki said the market would strengthen livestock trade and improve revenue generation. Yobe APC Exco Receive National Party Chairman Ganduje
