2023:Yobe,FHI360 flags-off1st round MNCH Week in Damaturu

Yobe State Government in collaboration with FHI360 Alive and Thrive Tuesday flagged off the 2023 first round of Maternal,Newborn and Child Health Week (MNCHW) in the state.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor, Mai Mala Buni on health,Dr Muhammad Lawan Gana while flagging-off the week long activities at gwange primary healthcare facility explained that, the aim of the MNCHW is to improve high-impact, cost-effective maternal and child survival intervention and to achieve at least 90 percent of all deliverables (intervention)in Nigeria and by extension Yobe State.
Dr Muhammad Lawan Gana stated that Government in the state had been rendering support in addition to creating an enabling environment for the smooth conduct of the exercise in the state.
"As the state Commenced the 2023 first semester round of MNCH week integrated with SOD today 30th May to Saturday 3rd june 2023 in 356 designated health facilities (2 facilities per ward),a total of 400 SODs teams will be deployed to provide RMNCH+N and other high impact primary healthcare services to the people of Yobe State",said Dr. Lawan.
On his remarks,Yobe state team lead,FHI360 Alive and Thrive, Mr.Japheth Boss On behalf of all partners in the state thanked the SSA to the governor on health Dr. Muhammad Lawan Gana for ensuring people centred health policies and providing enabling environment for implementing Partners to support the effort of the state government on provision of quality health and nutrition services for all its citizens.
"We want to call our 3 local partners in the state to support the week-long activities outline for the first round of the 2023 MNCHW plus integrated intensified state Outreach Days in 6 intervention in Yobe state",Mr Boss added.
Earlier in his remarks, the Executive Secretary,Yobe State Primary healthcare Management Board,Dr. Babagana Kundi Machina called on all parents and caregivers in the state to visit all the designated health facilities and avail their children,ward access to these integrated free health services.
