Yobe targets 80,000 households for subsidy palliatives

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state, Tuesday, inaugurated the committee for the commencement of distribution of palliatives to members of the society with a view to cushioning the bites of the fuel subsidy removal.

Represented by his Deputy,Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana,Buni noted that the support will be in phases with the flag-off targeting over 80,000 households of over 400,000 people, including the vulnerable persons, civil servants, students, the elderly, and women.

The governor assured that the distribution will cut across over 14,500 communities in the state with no segment of the vulnerable shortchanged in the exercise.

He said the committee, consisting of refutable community stakeholders, religious leaders, and traditional leaders and CSOs, would immediately commence implementation across the state and citizens to give maximum cooperation and support to the committee to ensure its success.
