Gov.Buni distributes palliatives to 6,800 vulnerable in Potiskum

In an efforts to cushion the hardship being experienced by the people as a result of fuel subsidy removal in the state,Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni has reached out  6800 Vulnerable households across 10 wards of potiskum local government area with palliative in the state.

The distribution exercise which was carried out by the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA)the beneficiaries cut across person living with disability, vulnerable households,primary and secondary school teachers,civil servants,students, elderly,widows and orphanages and a lot of vulnerable categories.

Speaking during the distribution exercise,the Executive Secretary,(SEMA), Mohammed Goje,said the palliatives is to respond to the flight of the vulnerable as directed by Governor Mai Mala Buni.

He stated that,the distribution of the palliatives was started since the removal of fuel subsidy in the state.

"Both the state and federal government is channel towards elevating the suffering of people as a result of fuel subsidy.

"The distribution of the palliatives will continue as we have strong communication with federal government, already we have stated receiving consignment from the federal government and would still reach out more communities with either the state or the federal government palliative.

 "We have selected the beneficiaries through Community population of the local government, vulnerable households and through their community leaders and stakeholders engagement respectively",said Goje

The SEMA Boss revealed that ,Once there is more circulation of food from the state , federal government, individual or philanthropist, food insecurity would be reduce.


"Each household to received 20kg of Basket,we urged them not to sell the food,"Goje added.
