Gov.Buni Approves N667m Benefits to 475 LG Retirees.

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State on has on  Thursday  approved payment of local government pensioners across the 17 local government councils of the state.

This is contained in a statement by Buni’s Director-General, Press and Media Affairs, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed and made available to newsmen in Damaturu.

According to the statement,Governor approved the sum of Six Hundred and Sixty Seven Million, forty five thousand, four hundred and forty one Naira, twenty two kobo (N667,045,441.22) for payment of the 475 local government pensioners.

Governor Buni gave the approval after the screening and verification of the Pensioners in the local government  councils

"The Committee has verified a total of 475 beneficiaries and hereby attach lists of beneficiaries and summary according to local government areas for both living and deceased Pensioners" the approval reads.

This is in continuation of Governor Buni's efforts to settle outstanding pensions owed to retired local government employees.

Buni attends Christmas Carol, pledges support for Christian fateful

9 Months After:5,029 Staff Fail to Submit Bio Data Forms in Yobe

Yusuf, Damaturu   A total of 5,029 out of 32,140 staff members in the Yobe State Government workforce have failed to submit their Bio Data forms nine months after the verification exercise in the state.   The Permanent Secretary of the Yobe State Public Service and Chairman of the Committee for the Generation of the Nominal Roll of Yobe State Civil Servants, Dr. Bukar Kilo, disclosed this on Wednesday while presenting the verification report to the State Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara Bularafa.   He stated that 27,111 out of the 32,140 total workforce participated in the exercise, while 5,029 staff members failed to submit their Bio Data forms, raising concerns about the authenticity of the staff records.   To address this issue, the committee has proposed the establishment of a Verification Committee.  According to Dr. Kilo, "The Verification Committee will require all staff who failed to submit thei...
