Bego assures information ministry fair share of upliftment

The newly appointed commissioner Yobe State Ministry for Home Affairs, Information and Culture,Hon Abdullahi Bego has assured that, all the agencies of the ministry will have a fair share of upliftment in order to make meet up to global trend.
Mr Bago disclosed this Tuesday while taken over the mantle of leadership of the the Ministry
Speaking at the handing and taking over ceremony, the Commissioner stated that,the present administration under Governor Mai Mala Buni, is realization of the need to position the Information sector of the state for optimum benefit of the people in the state.
According to Mr Bego,the era of propaganda, misinformation and disinformation, is over, as all hands must be on deck, work as a team, and support the good intention of the government by ensuring adequate coverage and dissemination of the right information, digestible by the common man.
He who noted the very huge task ahead, says the challenges are surmountable with the collaborative effort of the entire management of the ministry and the unflinching support from the Governor, who is keenly interested in changing the narrative of under reportage of Government Policies and program in the state.
“We shall train and retain information officers to build their capacity, pursue the digitization of the state Television, widen the Radio coverage and draft state policy for social media.
"Problems affecting the arts and Culture as well as the state Printing Commission, the commissioner promised, will be looked at in order to get all the arms of informing and educating the people efficiently performing",said Bego.
While handing over the affairs of the ministry to the new commissioner, the overseeing Permanent secretary Ministry of Information, Alh Kashim Tijjani Kalli described the appointment of Hon Abdullahi Bego as Information commissioner as a round peg in a round hole.
He enumerated the achievements of the ministry since his coming as an overseer, adding that Ministry can perform better when provided all necessary support and team work.
“On behalf of the ministry, I pledge to work as a family for the attainment of the desired goal, for the overall benefit of the state and in line with the Governor’s policies and programs.”
The Permanent secretary thanked the state Governor, Mai Mala Buni for the foresight and support given the Ministry while seeking for a deliberate funding opportunity for the ministry to move ahead.
