Yobe LG Polls:Group Drums Support for Alkali Damagum.

Fune Youth Development Association (FYDA) have declared their unalloyed support for Alkali Babba Damagum  to contest for the office of Chairman Fune Local Government Area in the forthcoming November Local Government election.

One of the concerned stakeholder of the group,Abba Damagum disclosed that, their support for Damagum is in recognition of his good works,maturity and support to Governor Mai Mala Buni's administration and Yobe State in general.

"We are strongly calling on Alkali Babba Damagum to contest for Chairmanship of Fune Local Government Area".

The youths stressed that their unanimous support for the Alkali Babba Damagum's  Chairmanship bid is also borne out of their conviction that his wealth of experience in the politics will be of immense benefit to the people of Fune Local Government Area and beyond.

They pointed out that the he has accommodated youths of Fune LGA in his activities more than any other aspirant in the local government in Yobe State, stressing that their council area is a major stronghold of APC in the state. 

He commended Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni "for stabilizing the political atmosphere in the state as well as executing meaningful projects for the benefit of the state citizens".

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  As part of its ongoing mission to support education, the Madakin Gudi Foundation has cleared five months’ stipends for 167 volunteer teachers across twenty-one schools in the Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State. A team from the Foundation mandated to carry out the payment set out in the early hours of Wednesday, 11th March 2026, visiting each of the 21 schools for the exercise.  The team first visited the Chana community and later proceeded to Godowoli and other villages, ending the exercise in Gadaka. Three volunteers in each of the schools were given the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira to cover their monthly stipends. Yobe L-PRES Project Hands Over Livestock Market to Geidam Community

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), a World Bank-funded program, has commissioned and handed over a modern livestock market to the Geidam local government area of Yobe State.  The market, located at the Nigeria-Niger border, is expected to boost livestock trade between the two countries and create jobs. The market covers a 400m x 400m area, with features including perimeter fencing, gates, security outpost, veterinary clinic, administrative block, solar-powered boreholes, and drinking points. Other amenities include loading and off-loading ramps, toilets, and a livestock weighing scale. Project Coordinator Adama Hussaini Madaki said the market would strengthen livestock trade and improve revenue generation. Yobe APC Exco Receive National Party Chairman Ganduje
