Hisbah Commission Bill Scales Second Reading At YSHA

Yobe state House of Assembly has on Wednesday passed a Second reading for a bill to establishment Yobe state Hisbah Commission in the state.
The Leader of the house,Hon.Nasiru Hassan Yusuf who raised the motion for the establishment of the bill said,the establishment of the Commission was informed due to the fact that so many social vices and crimes have become the order of today in towns and villages of the state.
Nasiru Hassan stated that,the Yobe state implementation of sharia 2000 and the Yobe state prohibition of unislamic practices 2000 are laws passed by the state assembly and assented by the Executive Governor of the state,but were not fully implemented and enforced in the state, while there is growing concern for there full implementation in the state.
He noted that,the Commission if establish will implement and enforce the provisions of this two laws , enlighten the general public on the implication of Sharia laws, monitor and ensure proper compliance of the teaching of sharia and take necessary measures to sanitise the society from all social vices and crimes prohibited by sharia among others.
The house leader urged the speaker of the house and his colleagues to support the bill and recommend its accelerated passage by Committing it to relevant Committee.
Some of the members of the house, Mohammed Isa Bello,Adamu Dala Dogo,Bulama Bukar and Bunu Zanna Bularafa also contributed towards the support of the motion for the establishment of the Hisbah commission in the state.
The Speaker of the house,Hon Chiroma Buba Mashio who chaired the sitting, said the bill has now been passed to second reading.
The Speaker also directed the house standing committee on judiciary,justice and religious led by its chairman Hon.Yakubu Sulaiman to go and work on the bill and come up with a report and present it to the floor of the house in next three weeks.
