The Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) Damaturu branch said,if every contractors or person constructing building will abide by their suggestions,issues of building collapse in the state would have not been arise.

The Association made this known Monday while briefing journalist in damaturu as part of their series of activities making the commencement of 2023 engineering week in the state.

The Chairman Engineering Regulation and Monitoring Committee in Yobe state,Engineer Zaji Bunu said,the unlucky issue that engineers have within the engineering and other sector is that of corruption,calling on the engineers in the state to abide by the code of ethics and the code of conducts.

"I'm sure you know and all of us know in all our passage of life, corruption is always there and unless an until all of us agree either as clients, contractors,supervisors or consultants to agree to abide on our ethics and code of conducts that there is no way we can single Handley take care of all these issues of either building collapse or having very low quality constructions in the state",said Zaji Bunu.

Earlier briefing the journalist,the Chairman Nigeria Society of Engineers, Damaturu Branch ,Engr.Mai Modu said,engineering week is an annual event where series of activities are undertaking to promote the engineering profession and Improve awareness of the general populace towards the profession.

Engineer Mai Modu stated that,as part of this year's 2023 engineering activities in the state,damaturu branch would carry out some activities such as carrier talk at Government Girls Collage,Damaturu, Philanthropic visit to Yatim Care Foundation School, and State Specialist hospital Damaturu.

" We are going to also visits some projects sites at federal Polytechnic and damaturu regional water supply well field (A)at Sumsumma village,courtesy call to Executive Governor of Yobe State and Elder Engineers in the state and Inspections of International cargo airport,damaturu among others".

He appreciated the efforts of Yobe State Governor,Mai Mala Buni for his influencing support to the engineering profession at all time.

9 Months After:5,029 Staff Fail to Submit Bio Data Forms in Yobe

Yusuf, Damaturu   A total of 5,029 out of 32,140 staff members in the Yobe State Government workforce have failed to submit their Bio Data forms nine months after the verification exercise in the state.   The Permanent Secretary of the Yobe State Public Service and Chairman of the Committee for the Generation of the Nominal Roll of Yobe State Civil Servants, Dr. Bukar Kilo, disclosed this on Wednesday while presenting the verification report to the State Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara Bularafa.   He stated that 27,111 out of the 32,140 total workforce participated in the exercise, while 5,029 staff members failed to submit their Bio Data forms, raising concerns about the authenticity of the staff records.   To address this issue, the committee has proposed the establishment of a Verification Committee.  According to Dr. Kilo, "The Verification Committee will require all staff who failed to submit thei...
