Yobe Gov't Distributes Palliatives to Disabled Persons.

In line with Governor Mai Mala Buni's pledge to provide palliatives to the people of Yobe state to cushion the hardships created by the subsidy removal, 500 Persons Living with Disabilities have been provided with food items.

Governor Buni directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to support the vulnerable persons with the food items.

The beneficiaries were provided with rice, maize, beans, spaghetti, salt and food seasoning cubes among others.

Dr. Mohammed Goje, Executive Secretary SEMA, said the distribution of the palliatives will be in phases starting with the needy and most vulnerable group.

"His Excellency Gov. Buni directed that we start the distribution with the most needy group and gradually reach out to other groups" Dr. Goje said.

Gov. Buni had last week assured that government would provide palliatives to the people to mitigate the effects of the subsidy removal. 

He said food items and other social needs like transportation would be addressed.

9 Months After:5,029 Staff Fail to Submit Bio Data Forms in Yobe

Yusuf, Damaturu   A total of 5,029 out of 32,140 staff members in the Yobe State Government workforce have failed to submit their Bio Data forms nine months after the verification exercise in the state.   The Permanent Secretary of the Yobe State Public Service and Chairman of the Committee for the Generation of the Nominal Roll of Yobe State Civil Servants, Dr. Bukar Kilo, disclosed this on Wednesday while presenting the verification report to the State Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara Bularafa.   He stated that 27,111 out of the 32,140 total workforce participated in the exercise, while 5,029 staff members failed to submit their Bio Data forms, raising concerns about the authenticity of the staff records.   To address this issue, the committee has proposed the establishment of a Verification Committee.  According to Dr. Kilo, "The Verification Committee will require all staff who failed to submit thei...
