Buni flags off Construction of N5.7bn Road Projects in Yobe

Yobe state Governor,Mai Mala Buni has on monday Flagged-off the construction of N5.7 Billion Naira, Gashua-Masaba, Karasuwa-Galu Road projects in the state.
Speaking at the flagging-off ceremony in Gashua town, Governor Buni said,the road construction is part of the state government efforts in the state to boost socio economic activities across the state.
He stated that,the construction of the 25-kilometre Gashua-Masaba asphalt road and 4.5 -Kilometre Karasuwa Galu asphalt road project is in line with the state government commitment and drive to provide good road networks across Yobe State.
Governor Buni noted that"the state government under his leadership is truly committed to providing good roads to enhance the smooth movement of goods and services for the people across the State.
"Government of Yobe state is highly dedicated to executing this project to provide succour to the long-standing transportation problem faced by the people in these area.
Buni further revealed that,the roads when completed is expected to support the growth of agricultural productivity and other socio-economic growth among the industrious people of the communities.
He stressed that,It is in realisation of the importance of the project that the state government launched a search for a reputable contractors which ended up with the selection of Maduwa Road Construction Ltd for Gashua-Masaba and Greyland Multipurpose Investment Limited for Karasuwa Galu road projects.
Buni further said,the project ,Gashua-Masaba is awarded at a total sum of N4,461,860,746.78 while that of karasuwa Galu is also awarded at the total sum of 1.3 billion Naira with a completion period of 9 and 6 months respectively.
He called on the contractors handling the projects to strictly abide by the contractual terms signed with the State Government.
