WHD:UNwomen Focal Person in Yobe hail Gov't,donor partners

The Focal Person UNwomen in Yobe state,Hajiya Fatima Paga has honored and appreciated the remarkable efforts of the donor partners,government agencies such as;SEMA,NEMA,NGOs and Women-Led Network and other humanitarian foundations in the state.

This is contained in a Message by the Focal Person UN Women Yobe State as part of the commemoration of the 2024 World Humanitarian Day(WHD)

This year’s theme is ‘#Act For Humanity’ with emphasis on the collective action needed to protect humanitarian workers that are attacked while providing critical assistance to vulnerable populations.

Fatima Stated that,On this World Humanitarian,the efforts of government and other developmental partners toward tireless work in responding to natural and man-made disasters in Yobe State has been a beacon of hope for many especially women and children.

She revealed that,"In addition,we extend our deepest gratitude for the swift and compassionate response to the plight of women and children. 

"Your efforts in building resilience among those affected by violent conflicts have made a significant impact",She added.

The UNwomen focal person further stated that,Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni shares in this appreciation and looks forward to further collaborations to continue this vital work.

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  As part of its ongoing mission to support education, the Madakin Gudi Foundation has cleared five months’ stipends for 167 volunteer teachers across twenty-one schools in the Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State. A team from the Foundation mandated to carry out the payment set out in the early hours of Wednesday, 11th March 2026, visiting each of the 21 schools for the exercise.  The team first visited the Chana community and later proceeded to Godowoli and other villages, ending the exercise in Gadaka. Three volunteers in each of the schools were given the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira to cover their monthly stipends. Yobe L-PRES Project Hands Over Livestock Market to Geidam Community

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), a World Bank-funded program, has commissioned and handed over a modern livestock market to the Geidam local government area of Yobe State.  The market, located at the Nigeria-Niger border, is expected to boost livestock trade between the two countries and create jobs. The market covers a 400m x 400m area, with features including perimeter fencing, gates, security outpost, veterinary clinic, administrative block, solar-powered boreholes, and drinking points. Other amenities include loading and off-loading ramps, toilets, and a livestock weighing scale. Project Coordinator Adama Hussaini Madaki said the market would strengthen livestock trade and improve revenue generation. Yobe APC Exco Receive National Party Chairman Ganduje
