Hon.Salis empowers 250 Kwaya Kusar Students with Scholarship

Determined to education and community empowerment to his people,a one time kwaya-kusar local government chairmanship aspirant under the platform of All progressive Congress (APC) during the last 2024 council elections in Borno state,Honorable Salihu Alhaji Ibrahim (Hon. Salis) has provided scholarships to 250 students at the Local Government,helping them pursue their studies in various higher institutions across the country. 

This timely intervention comes at a critical moment when many parents are struggling to afford their wards' school fees due to the prevailing economic challenges.

The scholarship support is tiered based on the students' educational levels,with those pursuing master's degrees receiving ₦50,000 each. Undergraduates in universities received ₦30,000, while students in polytechnics and colleges were granted ₦20,000 and ₦10,000, respectively. 

Honorable Salis emphasized that this initiative is aimed at alleviating the financial burden on families and ensuring that students remain focused on their educational pursuits.

While presenting the scholarships, Hon. Salis urged the students to prioritize their studies, recognizing education as a crucial tool for individual and societal development. He noted that this scholarship program is designed to complement the efforts of the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, whose administration has invested significant resources in the education sector.

"We must support our governor, who has remarkably advanced education and other sectors of development in our state. Today, every aspect of life in Borno has been touched by his efforts, and it is our responsibility to contribute to this positive change," Hon. Salis stated.

In addition to his support for students, Hon. Salis revealed that plans are well underway to empower women and girls in Kwaya Kusar. These initiatives will focus on skill acquisition in areas such as tailoring, Point of Sale (P.O.S) services, and other sustainable trades, providing the women and girls with the tools they need for self-reliance and economic independence.

Speaking earlier, the APC chairman of Kwaya kusar, Honorable Nuhu Gadam has thanked the donor for his developmental strive and yearning to education.
Also speaking, the district Head Of Kwaya kusar, represented by Alhaji Sule Ari expressed appreciation for the foresight and prayed Allah to bless the donor Honorable Salis abundantly.

Several students expressed their gratitude to Hon. Salis for his generosity, assuring that they would use the scholarship funds for their intended purpose and continue to strive for academic excellence.

With these initiatives, Hon. Salis is not only investing in the future of Kwaya Kusar's youth but is also laying the groundwork for the broader empowerment of women and girls in the community. His actions exemplify a deep commitment to the holistic development of Kwaya Kusar, ensuring that no one is left behind in the march toward progress and self-sustainability.
