Census:Buni inaugurates publicity, security,logistics committees

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state Tuesday inaugurated the publicity and logistics committees for the 2013 census exercise.

Inaugurating the publicity and logistics committees, Governor Buni said the 2023 census is expected to provide the country with accurate, reliable and acceptable demographic data for both the national budget and other development aspects.     


Represented by the secretary to Yobe state government, Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali, Buni stated that in view of this, the state government considered it imperative to constitute the committee composed of people with vast experience in their respective field of endeavours for the successful conduct of the 2023 census exercise. 

Buni assured of the readiness of his administration to support  the committees and the commission to enable them succeed in the 2023 census.




Earlier in his welcome address, the director, NPC Yobe state,  Iyawa D. Madagwa, said the 2013 population and housing census will be the first digital census in the history of the nation,  hence the need for all hands to be on deck for its smooth conduct. 

He assured of the commitment of the commission to ensure that the census is done rightly and professionally.

The publicity committee has Yobe state Commissioner of Information, Alhaji Mohammed Lamin as Chairman,Yobe State NPC federal Commissioner, Alhaji Mai Aliyu Mohammed  Co-chairman,Yobe Information Director,Hajiya  Husna Ibrahim as secretary while the  General Managers of Yobe TV, Radio,NTA Sunshine FM  and other Unions leaders as members.

While that of  security and logistic committee has Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam Retired as chairman,Alhaji Mai Aliyu Mohammed co-chairman, Director Local Government Administration as secretary while commissioner for local Government and that of transport, Chairman NURTW,Police, DSS,representatives to serve as members of the committee respectively.

Buni attends Christmas Carol, pledges support for Christian fateful

9 Months After:5,029 Staff Fail to Submit Bio Data Forms in Yobe

Yusuf, Damaturu   A total of 5,029 out of 32,140 staff members in the Yobe State Government workforce have failed to submit their Bio Data forms nine months after the verification exercise in the state.   The Permanent Secretary of the Yobe State Public Service and Chairman of the Committee for the Generation of the Nominal Roll of Yobe State Civil Servants, Dr. Bukar Kilo, disclosed this on Wednesday while presenting the verification report to the State Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara Bularafa.   He stated that 27,111 out of the 32,140 total workforce participated in the exercise, while 5,029 staff members failed to submit their Bio Data forms, raising concerns about the authenticity of the staff records.   To address this issue, the committee has proposed the establishment of a Verification Committee.  According to Dr. Kilo, "The Verification Committee will require all staff who failed to submit thei...
