38th National Qur'anic Competition end in Yobe

Deaf Muslims Seek Gov't to build boarding Sch in Damaturu

Speaking while signing the budget at the WAWA hall,government house damaturu,Governor Buni expressed appreciation for the existence of good synergy between the executive and the legislative arms of the government in the state. Governor Buni commended the law makers for their understanding and commitment and interest in speedy development of the state.   According to him, the budget which was tagged "budget of consolidation and economy recovery" was prepared to serve the good people of the state. NUJ Hails Buni over Restoration of Power supply in Damaturu

It could be recalled that recently there was vandalization of the 330 kva towers by unknown persons which threw residents into darkness. The Governor who promptly collaborated with the Federal government, YEDC and REB for the restoration. Zulum inaugurates N10.9b roads in Maiduguri

The three (3) roads will be dualised in order to decongest and expand development in Maiduguri Metropolis. The Governor, at a brief ceremony, explained that 50% of the contract sum has been paid to the contractors to mobilize them to site. N'East Govs Forum Seeks Alternative Power supply in Coal/Solar

The Northeast Governors Forum have resolved to work with the Shangai Electric Company to construct a 60 megawatts coal power plant or 50 megawatts solar power plant in each of the six states of Adamawa, Bauchi,  Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe to address the inadequate power supply in the region. This is contained in a communique issued at the end of the forum's meeting on Saturday in Yola.  The communique which was read by the Yobe state Governor Hon. Security Council reviewed Security situation in Yobe border

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  Yobe state security  Council under the chairmanship of Governor Mai Mala Buni Wednesday reviewed the security situation in the border communities affected by a recent security challenge in the state. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Brig. Gen. Abdulsalam Dahiru (rtd), stated this in Damaturu while briefing the press after the state security council meeting. He explained that the recent security challenge in some villages in Geidam local government area was as a result of infiltration of suspected insurgents into the state. “Yobe state shares common borders with Borno state, and an international boundary with Niger Republic. “The security agencies have deployed security men to the area and we are studying the report on the infiltration to forestall future occurence. “Meanwhile, calm and normalcy have returned to the affected villages” Gen. Buni Assures Personal Supervision of SOLID Project in Yobe

He stated this today when a team from the World Bank paid him a working visit in Damaturu.  "I am delighted to welcome yet another initiative by the World Bank to support the state government in implementing more sustainable solutions for long-term displaced persons and to support the host communities in dealing with the challenges they face.
