The Northeast Governors Forum have resolved to work with the Shangai Electric Company to construct a 60 megawatts coal power plant or 50 megawatts solar power plant in each of the six states of Adamawa, Bauchi,  Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe to address the inadequate power supply in the region. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Brig. Gen. Abdulsalam Dahiru (rtd), stated this in Damaturu while briefing the press after the state security council meeting.
