Gov.Buni appoints Yakubu Dokshi as Chairman TSB

Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni  has approved the appointment of Alhaji Yakubu Yasidi Dokshi as Acting Chairman of the Yobe State Teaching Service Board(TSB).

The Press Secretary to the Secretary to the Yobe State Government (SSG) Shuaibu Abdullahi who announced this on Monday said the  appointment takes immediate effect.

The appointment followed after the  tenure of the former Chairman has expired after two term in office. 

Alhaji Yakubu Dokshi is bringing his wealth of experience to significantly uplift the quality of teaching in line with Governor Mai Mala Buni's bold and ambitious agenda for Yobe's education sector.

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  As part of its ongoing mission to support education, the Madakin Gudi Foundation has cleared five months’ stipends for 167 volunteer teachers across twenty-one schools in the Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State. A team from the Foundation mandated to carry out the payment set out in the early hours of Wednesday, 11th March 2026, visiting each of the 21 schools for the exercise.  The team first visited the Chana community and later proceeded to Godowoli and other villages, ending the exercise in Gadaka. Three volunteers in each of the schools were given the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira to cover their monthly stipends. Yobe L-PRES Project Hands Over Livestock Market to Geidam Community

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), a World Bank-funded program, has commissioned and handed over a modern livestock market to the Geidam local government area of Yobe State.  The market, located at the Nigeria-Niger border, is expected to boost livestock trade between the two countries and create jobs. The market covers a 400m x 400m area, with features including perimeter fencing, gates, security outpost, veterinary clinic, administrative block, solar-powered boreholes, and drinking points. Other amenities include loading and off-loading ramps, toilets, and a livestock weighing scale. Project Coordinator Adama Hussaini Madaki said the market would strengthen livestock trade and improve revenue generation. Yobe APC Exco Receive National Party Chairman Ganduje
