Yobe set to host 38th national Qur'anic recitation competition

Yobe State government in collaboration with musabaqa foundation for Qur'anic recitation in Nigeria has set to host ,38th national qur’anic recitation competition scheduled to take place in damaturu Yobe state capital
The state organising publicity sub- committee led by the State Commissioner for home affairs information and culture,Alhaji Abdullahi Bego made this known thursday while briefing Journalists about the up coming 38th Qur'anic recitation competition.
Bego said,the objectives of the Qur'anic recitation competition is to encourage the pursuance of Islamic education and proper moral upbringing of youth and children.
He stated that,297 participants across the 36 states including abuja, 8 from each states would be participating in the 8 days long event in the state.
The information Commissioner further stated that,the competition is going to be in two phase,one for males participants would take place at federal Polytechnic damaturu while for the females participants would take place at the Yobe mosque and Islamic centre damaturu.
"Yobe state government is only facilitating the hosting of the event,the event is Organised by the musabaqah foundation for Qur'anic recitation competition, centre for Islamic studies,Usman Danfodio University,Sokoto.
"There would be a total of 74 coordinators and assistance coordinators from the 36th states of the federation,27 members of the national organising committee including judges who will be there to judge the competition and the participation and the two venues among others.
"There are four categories of the competition, category one is the total 60 part of the holy Qur'an with tafsir and recitation, second category is the total 60 part of the Qur'an with tafsir,third is the total 60 part of the holy Qur'an while the category forth is the half part of the holy Qur'an that is thirty hifz and all males and females would be competes on all the competition categories.
He revealed that,President Ahmed Bola Tinubu with be the special guest of honour, Chairman of the opening ceremony is the the minister of police affairs,Alhaji Ibrahim Geidam, Chairman of the closing ceremony is the Borno state governor, professor Babagana Umara Zulum,special royal guest,Sultan of Sokoto,Alhaji Mohammed Saad Abubakar III,Royal father of the day, Special royal father for the opening is the Shehu of Borno,Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al amin Elkanemi, Charman Yobe state council of Chiefs and Emir of Fika, special royal father for the closing day,Alhaji Dr. Mohammed Ibn Abali Mohammad Idrissa,and Chief Host,Yobe state Governor,Mai Mala Buni respectively.
