Gov.Buni signs N216.9bn 2024 budget into law

Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni has signed the 2024 budget amounting to N216.9 billion into law.

Speaking while signing the budget at the WAWA hall,government house damaturu,Governor Buni expressed appreciation for the existence of good synergy between the executive and the legislative arms of the government in the state.

Governor Buni commended the law makers for their understanding and commitment and interest in speedy development of the state.
 
According to him, the budget which was tagged "budget of consolidation and economy recovery" was prepared to serve the good people of the state.

He maintained that, earlier the state government has presented the sum of N217 billion for the 2024 budget to the state house of assembly for deliberation and passage in to law.

The Governor further revealed that,the honourable house reduced N15 million(N15,000,000) out of the earlier presented 2024 budget amount and now have a total of N216 billion,950 million(N216,950,000,000) with the recurrent of,N94 billon,156 million(N94,156,000,000) while N122 billion ,794 million(N122,794,000,00) is now approved for capital expenditure against 122 billion,844 million(N122,844,000,000) initially allocated to the sector.

He noted that,government in the state would complete all the ongoing project,and initiate new ones.

"Let me used this opportunity to reassures you that, the  government in the new year should focus on the completion of all project and funding of new ones there by prioritizing key sectors  and programmes that directly impact in the lives of our citizens.

"The provisions of roads and other basic imprastructure for multi percentage development would continue to beginning priority attention",said Governor Buni.

The Governor emphasized that, government would ensure the completion of the Potiskum and Geidam modern market,Potiskum trailer Park and Damaturu mega shopping center as well as rehabilitation, upgrading and capitalization of the government own companies among others.
