Yobe Begins Survey on SGDP to Analyze Economic Capacity

The Yobe State Government has on Tuesday commenced a five-day training program on State Gross Domestic Product (SGDP). 

The training aims to analyze the state's economic capacity, enabling the government to better understand income levels and identify areas for investment.  

The Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, represented by the Permanent Secretary,Hamidu Isa Babi , stated that the SGDP is a crucial tool for economic analysis.It helps the government prioritize sectors for investment and understand the economic potential of the state.  
He explained that the task will be handled by a dedicated bureau, which will conduct surveys and analyze data on behalf of the government. 

"This initiative reflects the state's commitment to understanding the economic culture and income levels of its people". 
The training, supported by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), was facilitated by Mr. Akindele Akinyemi. He emphasized the importance of the exercise.

He  stated, "We are conducting this training across all states to enhance capacity in economic planning and ensure accurate data collection."  

The Yobe State Statistician General, Abdurrahman Malik highlighted the significance of the task, noting that it will help the state understand its economic potential and guide decision-making for sustainable development.
