flyover in Damaturu a privilege every state capital enjoys-Buni's Aide

The Special Adviser to Governor Mai Mala Buni on Basic and Secondary Education and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Critical Stakeholders in Damaturu Local Government Area, Alhaji Mohammed Lamin, stated that the construction of a flyover in Damaturu is a privilege that every state capital enjoys.
Lamin made the statement on Monday during the Damaturu Local Government APC Critical Stakeholders meeting, which took place at the Cultural Center Auditorium in Damaturu.
The meeting brought together members of the Executive Council, members of the State House of Assembly, the Local Government Chairman, the Market Association, the Tricycle Association, Permanent Secretaries, as well as other APC members from Damaturu Local Government Area.
He explained that the occasion was prompted by the recent signing of an agreement for the construction of a flyover and a bypass in Damaturu town. Lamin noted that this development has generated significant anxiety and criticism from certain quarters. Some residents of Damaturu feel slighted because certain individuals still regard Damaturu as merely a glorified local government headquarters.
"We would like to make it clear to those who think that way that we have moved far beyond that stage. Damaturu has now developed into a full-fledged state capital, like any other state capital in Nigeria. Without mincing words, we can say that we have matured enough to be regarded as a full-fledged state headquarters, complete with all the paraphernalia that comes with it," Lamin stated.
He emphasized that, by any standard, this is a great achievement and a significant facelift for the town. "Some people in other states are even complaining that they have not seen this level of development in their states during this government's tenure. We thank God for this progress and appreciate the governor for making it happen for Damaturu," Lamin added.
Lamin further revealed that every son and daughter of Damaturu is appreciative of this development, as is anyone living in Damaturu.
"We are aware of those who criticize this progress, but we know that they will eventually come to us for favors. We know how to treat them, especially since they are building palaces in their own towns and cities, as they did when Damaturu was newly created. They wanted to stay in their towns and cities to run the government from there if they succeeded. We will teach them a lesson," the Chairman of the APC Critical Stakeholders in Damaturu added.
He thanked Governor Mai Mala Buni, the State Executive Council, and the members of the State House of Assembly for approving the project in the state budget.
"We fully support this development in Damaturu. In addition to the flyover and the bypass, the government has also approved the construction of about 25 kilometers of roads within Damaturu," Lamin concluded.
