Ten Family Planning champions from various media organizations in Yobe State held a review meeting on Wednesday to strengthen Family Planning services in the state.

The Chairman of the FP Media Team Champions, Mustapha Musa Yusuf, while addressing his members, said the review meeting aimed to develop the 2025 strategic work plan.

He noted that the team, which is supported by The Challenge Initiative (TCI) and Development Communications (DevCom), also reviewed its successes, challenges, and lessons learned during its advocacy efforts in Yobe State.

He pointed out that misconceptions and misinformation rooted in certain religious beliefs have significantly hindered the acceptance of family planning in the state.

Earlier, Mustapha appointed Hauwa Hassan of Yobe State Television (YTV) as Vice Chairman and Ahmed I. Abba of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) as Public Relations Officer(PRO)

The FP Media Team Chairman expressed optimism that the restructured leadership would enhance advocacy and media engagements, ensuring wider acceptance of family planning in Yobe.
