Yobe:Sen.Geidam distributes 60 tricycles to constituents

In an effort to tackle youth unemployment and under utilization in the state, the senator representing Yobe East senatorial district, Senator Ibrahim Geidam, Thursday, launched the distribution of 60 tricycles to constituents in the zone.
Senator Geidam said the empowerment sponsored by himself was part of the 2022 zonal intervention projects aimed at alleviating poverty and helping the youths in the state to realise their full potential.
Represented by his legislative aide, Mohammed Goni Kuwata, Sen. Geidam said there was no doubt the commercial tricycle business may be considered as small scale but the important lesson which they want youths to imbibe is that of self employment.
“Empowerment is one of the cardinal programme of my representation. You may recall that during my first term, we took initiative to create employment by organising training where our youths learnt new skills in diverse areas of which include fish farming, pomade making, solar installation, tie and dye, sewing shoe and bag making among others,” he said.
He called on the beneficiaries not to sell the tricycle machine given to them as the gesture if fully utilised could be used to step into bigger investment in the future.
Alaramma Goni Su’u who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked Senator Ibrahim Geidam for the gesture and promised to use the machine given to them for the purpose they were intended for.
On his remarks,the special guest of honour,Yobe state deputy Governor,Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana commended Senator Ibrahim Geidam for his remarkable representation as a senator representing Yobe East Senatorial Districts.
Represented by Special Adviser to Governor Mai Mala Buni on wealth creation, empowerment and employment generation, Abdullahi Bego,Gubana stated that,the mandate given to Senator Ibrahim Geidam by the people of Yobe East is a well deserved.
"What Senator Ibrahim Geidam is doing and what he has done showered that more and more dividends of democracy will continue to flow for the people of Yobe East Senatorial Districts in the state",Idi Barde Gubana added.
