Gov.Buni Appoints Acting SSG,COS

Yobe State Governor,  Mai Mala  Buni has approved the appointment of Alhaji Baba Malam Wali,as Acting Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf Gashua,as Acting Chief of Staff (COS) to the Governor.

This is contained in a statement signed by Gov.Buni's Media aide,Alhaji Mamman Mohammed.

According to the statement,the appointment of the two officers is with immediate effect.

Until the dissolution of the State Executive Council last month, the Acting Secretary to the State Government and Chief of Staff, had both served in substantive capacities.

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  As part of its ongoing mission to support education, the Madakin Gudi Foundation has cleared five months’ stipends for 167 volunteer teachers across twenty-one schools in the Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State. A team from the Foundation mandated to carry out the payment set out in the early hours of Wednesday, 11th March 2026, visiting each of the 21 schools for the exercise.  The team first visited the Chana community and later proceeded to Godowoli and other villages, ending the exercise in Gadaka. Three volunteers in each of the schools were given the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira to cover their monthly stipends. Yobe L-PRES Project Hands Over Livestock Market to Geidam Community

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), a World Bank-funded program, has commissioned and handed over a modern livestock market to the Geidam local government area of Yobe State.  The market, located at the Nigeria-Niger border, is expected to boost livestock trade between the two countries and create jobs. The market covers a 400m x 400m area, with features including perimeter fencing, gates, security outpost, veterinary clinic, administrative block, solar-powered boreholes, and drinking points. Other amenities include loading and off-loading ramps, toilets, and a livestock weighing scale. Project Coordinator Adama Hussaini Madaki said the market would strengthen livestock trade and improve revenue generation. Yobe APC Exco Receive National Party Chairman Ganduje
