NURTW Donates Palliatives to Families of Deceased Members

The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW)Yobe State chapter has during the weekend distributed relief materials to 700 children of its deceased members across the 17 LGA of the state.

The initiative which was supported by Yobe First Movement (YFM) has brought hope and comfort to those affected by the loss of their loved ones.

The State Coordinator, Yobe First Movement (YFM), Sadiq Mohammed, explained that, the initiative aimed to support the well-being and development of vulnerable children in the society.

"We were able to presents the relief materials to the leadership of the NURTW for onward distribution to the families of deceased members.

"We brought materials such as 400 pieces of wrappers for the female Children,100 pieces of shaddas for the male Children and ₦100,000 for transportation to convey the orphans to their various LGAs after the distribution,"said YFM Coordinator Sadiq.
In his remarks,the State Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW) Yobe Chapter ,Karumi Alhaji Goni revealed, the initiative underscores the union's commitment to supporting its members and their families in times of hardship.

"We appreciates the Yobe First Movement (YFM) for this support.Usually we have a foundation named NURTW maruyu foundation that used to assist the deceased members of our great  unions.We are calling on government,NGO and  philanthropist to comes to the aids of our Orphans",Said Karumi.

On behalf of the Orphans families,Fatima Usman from Nayi- Nawa Community expressed gratitude for the assistance, stressed noting that the support would significantly alleviate their burdens during these difficult times.
