Yobe citizens call on gov't to address unnamed streets

By, Ibrahim Bulama Lamba

The concerned citizens of Yobe are calling on the state government  to take an immediate action to address the lack of official street names in many new wards and streets.

According to them, this issue has led to confusion, difficulties in navigation, and challenges in communication.

"Many streets in our community have no official names, and some individuals have taken it upon Themselves to assign names, leading to inconsistencies and confusion. This lack of standardization hinders effective communication, navigation, and even emergency service.

"To address this issue, we proposed the following:Conduct a thorough survey to identify streets and wards without official names.Assign official names to these streets and wards in consultation with community leaders and residents and install signboards with the official street names to facilitate navigation and communication.

"We called on the government to take immediate action to address this critical issue and work towards creating a more livable and sustainable community for all".
