Armed Forces Remembrance Day:Gov Buni honours fallen heroes

Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni on Wednesday led other dignitaries in laying of a wreath in commemoration of the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration in Damaturu.

The event was attended by government officials, heads of security agencies, traditional rulers and members of the state branch of the Nigeria Legion as well as family members of the fallen heroes.

Special prayers were offered by both Muslim and Christian military clerics for the repose of the souls of the fallen heroes and for the peace of Yobe state and the nation in general. 

Governor Buni led the wreath-laying exercise, joined by the Deputy Governor, representatives of the armed forces, the state legislature, traditional rulers, and veterans of the Nigerian Legion.


The event ended with a symbolic release of doves, signifying peace and hope for the state and the country at large.
