Gov.Buni charges sworn in appointees to be dedicated to duties

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has sworn-in the newly appointed Board Chairmen, Permanent Members and Permanent Secretaries to the Yobe State Civil Service. 

The swearing-in was conducted during a ceremony at the banquet hall, Government House Damaturu on Tuesday.

 The newly sworn-in permanent secretaries are Garba Hassan, Ministry of Water Resources; Garba Tahir Usman, Ministry of Higher Education; Mohammed Bello Sale, Service Welfare Office, Office of the Head of Service, and Shuaibu Baba Ahmed to be deployed in due course.

 Others are Goni Baba Gana,Vhairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Board, Babaji Dauda Galadima and Koromari as Permanent, members of the Fiscal Responsibility Board.

Also sworn in are Auwalu Isa Dankwanyau, permanent member state Universal Basic Education Board; Barrister Hamidu Musa Gagure, and Alhaji Yahaya Ado of the State Assembly Service Commission.

In his address shortly after the swearing-in event, Governor Buni said the officers’ appointments are based on merit, diligence, and loyalty and are in line with the policy of existing vacancies in government to promote good governance and enhance the delivery of quality services to the people. 

He revealed that the appointees  joining the government at a critical moment when the administration is putting extra effort into actualising its campaign promises to improve the lives of the people. “You are therefore admonished to put in your wealth of experience for the government to achieve its set targets for us to collectively develop the state and build a prosperous Yobe.

 “As veterans in your respective fields, l am optimistic that you will be dedicated to your duties with the interest of the people placed over and above personal interests. 

“It is indeed very pertinent for you to promote teamwork as each one of us has a significant role to play in our lofty drive of taking the state to new heights”, said the governor. 

He also urged the officials to recognize and reward hard work to bring out the best in all staff in their respective organisations.
