Buni attends Christmas Carol, pledges support for Christian fateful

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has pledged to strengthen the peaceful co-existence among the Christians and Muslims in the state regardless of their religious background.

The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Religious Affairs and ethical reorientation, Yusuf Umar disclosed this at the second edition of the North East Unity Christmas Carol held at Damaturu the Yobe state capital.

According to him, the both religions have co-existed peacefully in the state and pledged to sustain the tempo by carrying all along.

“You can see how things are going on in Yobe state. Both Christians and Muslims we co-exist and that is from God, nobody can do it alone, we must come together to make sure we live in harmony and help each other”

“We must also live in peace this time, that is how God want us.  All of us cannot be Muslims and all cannot be Christians.  I want to assure you that this coming Christmas will be a Christmas with a difference, I will make sure that more supports come to the Christian fateful from the Governor” he said.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Convener and the Liaison Officer to Governor Mai Mala Buni on Christian Affairs, Honourable Emmanuel Degubi thanked the Governor for always supporting the Christians as well during festive periods.

He called on the Governor to consider the appointment of Christian Politicians in the state into political offices so as to contribute their quota.

“Your Excellency when you came on board five years ago, we had many Special Assistants, we really commend you for that.  We want you again to support the Christendom through the Christian Association of Nigeria or through the Politicians as you have been doing”

“Here we have the representatives of all the tribes in the Northeast and we seek for more support especially during the Christmas festive period” he said.

The Guest Preacher, Rev. Dr. Yunus Nmadu, who doubles as the Chief Executive Officer Christian Solidarity Worldwide Nigeria spoke on theme ‘Carol in the African Way (The Prince of Peace).  He charged the Christian fateful to embrace one another and propagate the peace that Jesus Christ brought into the World.

Group passes vote of confidence on Sen.Bomai
