Media Team Meets to Strengthen Family Planning Services in Yobe

Yobe launches free meals distribution for Ramadan Iftar to Tsangaya schools

Yusuf The Yobe state government, through the Arabic and Islamic Education Board, on Friday launched the distribution of free Ramadan Iftar meals to Tsangaya schools across Damaturu, the state capital.   While briefing journalists in his office in Damaturu, the Executive Secretary of the Arabic and Islamic Education Board, Umar Abubakar, said three Tsangaya schools were being targeted daily, with each school accommodating between 150 and 300 Almajiri students.   He said the initiative aimed to alleviate the hardships faced by Almajiri students during the holy month of Ramadan, particularly amid the economic challenges in the country.   Abubakar revealed that the free Ramadan meals included jollof rice with beef, watermelon, and porridge, which are individually packaged for each student.   In addition, the executive secretary noted that the board had purchased clothes, shoes, and other Sallah material...

Gov. Buni Approves Employment of 267 Health Technicians

The employment covers 140 Buni Scholars who recently graduated in various fields of Medical sciences in India. The Buni Scholars include 43 Bsc Nursing, 43 Bsc Pharmacy, 22 Bsc Medical Laboratory Science, 24 Bsc Radiology, 7 Bsc Optometry and 1 Bsc Public Health graduates. Similarly,Gov. Buni approved the employment of 127 health technician currently serving as volunteers in health institutions across the state. 9 Months After:5,029 Staff Fail to Submit Bio Data Forms in Yobe

Yusuf, Damaturu   A total of 5,029 out of 32,140 staff members in the Yobe State Government workforce have failed to submit their Bio Data forms nine months after the verification exercise in the state.   The Permanent Secretary of the Yobe State Public Service and Chairman of the Committee for the Generation of the Nominal Roll of Yobe State Civil Servants, Dr. Bukar Kilo, disclosed this on Wednesday while presenting the verification report to the State Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara Bularafa.   He stated that 27,111 out of the 32,140 total workforce participated in the exercise, while 5,029 staff members failed to submit their Bio Data forms, raising concerns about the authenticity of the staff records.   To address this issue, the committee has proposed the establishment of a Verification Committee.  According to Dr. Kilo, "The Verification Committee will require all staff who failed to submit thei...
