Tonga Betara assumes office as Yobe HoS

The newly appointed Yobe State Head of Civil Service,Tonga Betara Bularafa has on thursday  assumed office.

Tonga Betara appointment was announced on Wednesday in a statement that he should resume duty immediately.

The heading over ceremony held at the head of service conference hall, Governor's office in damaturu was attended by well-wishers who accompanied the newly appointed HoS and the staff of the office of the Head of Service respectively.
Shortly after he received the handover notes from the permanent secretary, public service office,Alh.(Dr)Bukar Kilo,Tonga Betara assured to justify the confidence placed in him by contributing to the growth and development of the state.
He expressed appreciation to the Governor,Mai Mala Buni for entrusting him with the responsibility to serve as the new Head of Service in the state.

He called on all personnel at his office and the state in general to be punctual and dedicated to thier respective MDAs all the time.

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  As part of its ongoing mission to support education, the Madakin Gudi Foundation has cleared five months’ stipends for 167 volunteer teachers across twenty-one schools in the Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State. A team from the Foundation mandated to carry out the payment set out in the early hours of Wednesday, 11th March 2026, visiting each of the 21 schools for the exercise.  The team first visited the Chana community and later proceeded to Godowoli and other villages, ending the exercise in Gadaka. Three volunteers in each of the schools were given the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira to cover their monthly stipends. Yobe L-PRES Project Hands Over Livestock Market to Geidam Community

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), a World Bank-funded program, has commissioned and handed over a modern livestock market to the Geidam local government area of Yobe State.  The market, located at the Nigeria-Niger border, is expected to boost livestock trade between the two countries and create jobs. The market covers a 400m x 400m area, with features including perimeter fencing, gates, security outpost, veterinary clinic, administrative block, solar-powered boreholes, and drinking points. Other amenities include loading and off-loading ramps, toilets, and a livestock weighing scale. Project Coordinator Adama Hussaini Madaki said the market would strengthen livestock trade and improve revenue generation. Yobe APC Exco Receive National Party Chairman Ganduje
