MEDCI supervises the ongoing kidney disease sampling in Yobe

A non governmental organizations ,Media and Disability Care Initiative MEDCI has taken part in supervising the ongoing kidney disease research sampling in Gashua Community.

Led by the  Executive Director , Comrade Rajab Mohammed Ismail,commended Yobe State Government for supporting the projects under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni.

Comrade Rajab commended the special Adviser to Yobe state Governor on Science,research and innovation,Dr. Mahmoud Bukar Maina for swung into action by mobilizing his team to Gashua town to commence the kidney disease sampling research.

Earlier speaking,the projects coordinator Dr. Mahmoud Bukar Maina said they were in Gashua on the directives of the Yobe state government to carry out samples collection, which will take them for ten days .
In his response,the Chairman Bade local government area Ibrahim Babagana welcome the research team a equally assured of the council and Emirate readiness to support the actualization of their dreams .

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  As part of its ongoing mission to support education, the Madakin Gudi Foundation has cleared five months’ stipends for 167 volunteer teachers across twenty-one schools in the Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State. A team from the Foundation mandated to carry out the payment set out in the early hours of Wednesday, 11th March 2026, visiting each of the 21 schools for the exercise.  The team first visited the Chana community and later proceeded to Godowoli and other villages, ending the exercise in Gadaka. Three volunteers in each of the schools were given the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira to cover their monthly stipends. Yobe L-PRES Project Hands Over Livestock Market to Geidam Community

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), a World Bank-funded program, has commissioned and handed over a modern livestock market to the Geidam local government area of Yobe State.  The market, located at the Nigeria-Niger border, is expected to boost livestock trade between the two countries and create jobs. The market covers a 400m x 400m area, with features including perimeter fencing, gates, security outpost, veterinary clinic, administrative block, solar-powered boreholes, and drinking points. Other amenities include loading and off-loading ramps, toilets, and a livestock weighing scale. Project Coordinator Adama Hussaini Madaki said the market would strengthen livestock trade and improve revenue generation. Yobe APC Exco Receive National Party Chairman Ganduje
