2025 Humanitarian Need,Response plan for N/E relaunch in Yobe

Yobe state government in partnership with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs,(UN-OCHA) has on wednesday relaunched the 2025 Humanitarian Need and Response Plan (HNRP)for North East Nigeria in Damaturu, Yobe State capital.
The 2025 HNRP provides a framework for the United Nations,National and International NGOs, Civil society and the private sector to work in support of the Government of Nigeria to meet the needs of vulnerable people in Yobe,Borno, and Adamawa states in the north-east Nigeria.
The state level plan launch highlighted the specific needs in the state and plans to address them.Its elaborated on opportunities for state and humanitarian partners to reflect on the 2024 achievements and lessons learnt as well as to advocate for state and donor resources to meet critical needs highlighted in the 2025 Humanitarian Needs Response Plan (HNRP).
It also be an opportunity for state government leadership to reflect on its own strategies to address population vulnerability, humanitarian response and recovery.
Declaring the program opened,Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni said, the United States of America continues to provide humanitarian aid in alignment with the UN's commitment to addressing the pressing humanitarian and development needs of the affected populations.
Represented by the Executive Secretary,State Emergency Management Agency (YOSEMA)Dr Mohammed Goje,Buni extends his heartfelt gratitude to the United Nations, development partners,and all stakeholders for their steadfast support in bringing hope to the people of Nigeria.
"Your dedication to peace security and stability has been invaluable to the UN's efforts.However,the ongoing conflict has created one of the worst humanitarian crises of our time, with the region ranking among the most severely affected.
"Over 7 million people across Borno,Adamawa, and Yobe states continue to require urgent assistance.Displacement has devastated livelihoods, particularly for families,exacerbating an already dire food security situation.
"Despite these challenges,the federal and state governments of Nigeria,with your support,have made significant strides in improving security and saving human lives.With the relative stability achieved, we now focus on the 2025 Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP), which prioritizes post-conflict initiatives" said Governor Buni
He further revealed that,the Nigerian government remains fully committed to partnering with the United Nations and humanitarian actors to ensure sustainable recovery, rehabilitation and resilience," for our communities".
