NTIC holds Qur’anic recitation competition in Yobe

The Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) in collaboration with the Yobe state government, Saturday, organised an annual Quranic recitation competition (Musabaqa) among students in the state.
The NTIC principal, girls section, Mr Haseebulla Jogi, said the annual Quar’anic competition (Musabaqa) is necessary among students to promote literacy in the Quran and encourage its recitation, memorisation and apply its spirit in life.
The principal further stated that the Qur’anic recitation competition categories into four parts of the Holy Quran which includes: two, five, ten and thirty Hibz-off hand recitation respectively.
“In this competition, 300 students have participated out of 890 students. The competition has commenced since Thursday where we have shortlisted the students, eliminated some and this are the final once shortlisted in all the categories now competing with each other on the stage,” Mr Jogi
On his remarks during the Qur'anic recitation competition,the Executive Secretary,Yobe State Arabic and Islamic Education Board,Dr.Umar Abubakar said,the school qur'anic recitation competition its an annual competition competing between the school students
Dr.Umar pointed out that,the qur'anic recitation competition,"It provides an opportunity for the students to improve their Quran recitation skills, develop memorization abilities, enhance understanding of Quranic verses, boost self-confidence and public speaking skills, and discover hidden talents".
He further revealed that ,the students have been performing wonderfully this made the Arabic board planning to expand such a Qur'anic recitation competition to other schools in the state.
