38th National Qur'anic Competition end in Yobe

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu Bauchi, Kano emerged winners of the 38th National Qur'anic Recitation competition.Ibrahim Mohammed Nasir from Bauchi state and Zainab Aliyu Mohammed,from Kano state are the representative of their respective states have emerged overall winners of the 38th National Qur’anic Recitation competition held in Damaturu, Yobe State. The winner from the male category, Ibrahim Mohammed Nasir was crowned as hero of the year by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar,and received five million(5,000,000) naira as well as a Toyota Corolla ,while Zainab Aliyu Mohammed of the female category from Kano state was also crowned as hero of the year by the Ya- Maira of Damaturu Emirate also received  five million (5,000,000) and a Honda Accord Car. Deaf Muslims Seek Gov't to build boarding Sch in Damaturu

Gov.Buni signs N216.9bn 2024 budget into law

Speaking while signing the budget at the WAWA hall,government house damaturu,Governor Buni expressed appreciation for the existence of good synergy between the executive and the legislative arms of the government in the state. Governor Buni commended the law makers for their understanding and commitment and interest in speedy development of the state.   According to him, the budget which was tagged "budget of consolidation and economy recovery" was prepared to serve the good people of the state. NUJ Hails Buni over Restoration of Power supply in Damaturu

It could be recalled that recently there was vandalization of the 330 kva towers by unknown persons which threw residents into darkness. The Governor who promptly collaborated with the Federal government, YEDC and REB for the restoration. Buni contacts FG over vandalised 330KVA towers

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  In an effort to restore power supply to Damaturu and its environs,Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni has reached out to the Federal Government for assistance in reconstructing the vandalised 330KVA towers, which caused a complete power outage in the area.  A statement issued and signed by the Secretary to the Yobe State government, Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali, and made available to newsmen  in Damaturu, revealed that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has already awarded a contract for the reconstruction of the affected towers.  The statement read a part, “Meanwhile, to provide an interim power solution for Damaturu and its environs, Governor Mai Mala Buni has directed the Rural Electrification Board (REB) and Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) to promptly restore the 33KV line from Potiskum to Damaturu. Zulum inaugurates N10.9b roads in Maiduguri

The three (3) roads will be dualised in order to decongest and expand development in Maiduguri Metropolis. The Governor, at a brief ceremony, explained that 50% of the contract sum has been paid to the contractors to mobilize them to site.
