Gov.Buni assures Army of more support to end insurgency

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has assured the Nigerian Army and other security agencies of continuous support in the fight against insurgency in the state.  He gave the assurance on Sunday, in Damaturu when he received the Chief of Army staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, on a courtesy call at the Government house, Damaturu.  According to a statement by his Director-General, Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, Governor Buni commended the military for its commitment to the security now enjoyed across the state. He said the 17 local government areas are accessible with the people moving around pursuing legitimate businesses. World Bank,Yobe disburse $2.5m non-interest loan to farmers

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has on Saturday launched a second disbursement of $2,525,000 non-interest Community Revolving Fund loan to 101 communities and farmer groups in the state.  Governor Buni said the Non interest Community Revolving Fund was aimed at driving economic growth, provide employment opportunities and create wealth.  "It is an investment revolving facility sourced by the state government for communities and farmer groups to expand agricultural developments and strengthen the role of communities in the management of their environment for economic prosperity. Yobe citizens call on gov't to address unnamed streets

According to them,this issue has led to confusion, difficulties in navigation, and challenges in communication. "Many streets in our community have no official names, and some individuals have taken it upon Themselves to assign names, leading to inconsistencies and confusion. This lack of standardization hinders effective communication, navigation, and even emergency service. Foundation offers free treatment to 310 persons in machina

CS-SUNN advocates on improve nutrition policies practice in Yobe

The advocacy visits which emberked on Wednesday visited;state ministry of humanitarian affairs and disaster management as well as the primary health care management board (PHCMB) respectively. Yobe:YOPCODI, NHF train 100 Out-Of-School Girls on Digital Literacy

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  In an effort to revitalize the education sector, Yobe state government in partnership with Yobe Peace and Community Development Initiative (YOPCODI) in consortium with African Youth for Peace Development and Empowerment Foundation (AFRYDEV) have trained and graduated 100 Out-Of-School Adolescent Girls in Digital Literacy. The programme which is supported by the Nigerian Humanitarian Fund targeted girls who were mainstreamed into the formal education in Geidam and Bade local government areas of the state. By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has charged the Projects monitoring committee to intensify monitoring and evaluation of all projects to ensure timely and quality execution of government projects.  He gave the directive on Monday in Damaturu while speaking to government officials.  "This is to ensure that all projects comply with contractual specifications, stand the test of time, and are beneficial to our people" he said.  The Governor also directed site Engineers attached to projects not to compromise contractual specifications, and report sub standard work on the peojects.  "We must have value for money expended on all the projects being executed by the state government.  "This is in line with the policy of accountability being promoted by this administration" Buni said.  The Governor warned in strong terms that  government would not tolerate unnecessary delay or sub standard work on any of its projects....

During the visit the team find out that Hamza's Health is significantly improving.  A relative of the Hamza, Malam Sadiq Mohammed who is with him at the hospital appreciated the effort of Yobe State Governor,Mai Mala Buni and  Madakin Gudi Foundation for coming up with this initiative and support.  Mallam Sadiq Mohammed recounted that,if not because of the intervention rendered to Hamza,by the Yobe State Government and Madakin Gudi foundation ,his health might have been in serious threat by now. Yobe opens tender bids to develop road map for solid minerals sector

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  Yobe state ministry of commerce, industry, tourism and solid minerals has on Friday opened a tender bids for consultancy service in respect of production of comprehensive road map to develop the solid minerals sector in the state. Speaking during the tender bids opened at the conference hall of the ministry in damaturu,the Commissioner ministry of commerce,Alhaji Kaigama Umar said,inline with the procurement act, the tender was advertised in two national dailies commencing from 3rd January 2025.
