Yobe:Over 3000 Civil servants take 2024 promotion Exams

The Yobe State Head of Service(HoS) Hamidu M.Alhaji said,over 3,000 civil servants sat for the 2024 promotion examination in Damaturu, Potiskum and Gashua centres in the state.

Hamidu made this known in Damaturu while supervising the conduct of the examination held at Government Girls College,(GGC)Damaturu.

The HoS said the purpose of the examination was to enhance productivity and efficiency in civil service as well as to acquaint civil servants with government policies and programmes.

He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise assuring the full support and cooperation of civil servants for the Buni administration to implement its developmental policies and programmes for the benefit of all.

"We have three examination centres,one in Damaturu,Potiskum and Gashua,so in all the three centers there are over 3000 thousand civil servants are currently writing the promotion examination.

"On the criteria in which government used to follow for selection of the candidates for the promotion examination",Any one that is eligible for the promotion by years of service will buy the form and apply", Hamidu added.

He commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for creating the enabling environment for 2024 examination to take place at all the designation centers in the State.

A team from the Foundation mandated to carry out the payment set out in the early hours of Wednesday, 11th March 2026, visiting each of the 21 schools for the exercise.  The team first visited the Chana community and later proceeded to Godowoli and other villages, ending the exercise in Gadaka. Three volunteers in each of the schools were given the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira to cover their monthly stipends. Yobe L-PRES Project Hands Over Livestock Market to Geidam Community

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), a World Bank-funded program, has commissioned and handed over a modern livestock market to the Geidam local government area of Yobe State.  The market, located at the Nigeria-Niger border, is expected to boost livestock trade between the two countries and create jobs. The market covers a 400m x 400m area, with features including perimeter fencing, gates, security outpost, veterinary clinic, administrative block, solar-powered boreholes, and drinking points. Other amenities include loading and off-loading ramps, toilets, and a livestock weighing scale. Project Coordinator Adama Hussaini Madaki said the market would strengthen livestock trade and improve revenue generation. Yobe APC Exco Receive National Party Chairman Ganduje
