Yobe HoS meets with DHRM over Personnel database plan

The Yobe state Head of service, Hamidu M.Alhaji has on tuesday have a meeting with all director human resource management (DHRM)across the state ministries, departments and Agencies towards having a comprehensive state's personnel data base.

Speaking during the meeting at the civil service union Conference Hall in Damaturu,Hamidu Alhaji said,the state need to have a personnel data base in the office of the head of service while the director human resource management(DHRMS )are the key persons to play a significance role on that aspect.

The HoS stated that,they have called on all the DHRMs for the meeting in order to brief them on how to go about the personnel database process in the state.

"This meeting is mainly called for one very important purpose,that is the issue of personnel data base.The office of the head of service suppose to have custody of the data base of all the personnel in the state, unfortunately this is not the case,we only relayed on personnel payroll from the state ministry of finance.

"An attempted have been made by the previous head of service to have this data base in place,but all prove abortive".

He noted that,on his appointment as the state head of service with the consultation with Secretary to the Yobe state government the need to have this personnel database was also expressed.

Hamidu further said,"Now I consulted the commissioner state ministry of finance whom I know has some experience on that and they are the custodian of the state payroll data that we are using now.They have  project that started to some personnel on database to some MDAs.

"Our discussion resolved that instead of engaging a consultant to spend so much money and eventually at end may not be actually a successful,we decided to use the capacity that we have at the finance ministry so that we can mobilize and engage some data entry officers to start the project", said Hamidu.

He maintained that,they have produced the data capturing template which is going to be shared to all the MDAs through the director human resource management (DHRM)with a set time line.

9 Months After:5,029 Staff Fail to Submit Bio Data Forms in Yobe

Yusuf, Damaturu   A total of 5,029 out of 32,140 staff members in the Yobe State Government workforce have failed to submit their Bio Data forms nine months after the verification exercise in the state.   The Permanent Secretary of the Yobe State Public Service and Chairman of the Committee for the Generation of the Nominal Roll of Yobe State Civil Servants, Dr. Bukar Kilo, disclosed this on Wednesday while presenting the verification report to the State Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara Bularafa.   He stated that 27,111 out of the 32,140 total workforce participated in the exercise, while 5,029 staff members failed to submit their Bio Data forms, raising concerns about the authenticity of the staff records.   To address this issue, the committee has proposed the establishment of a Verification Committee.  According to Dr. Kilo, "The Verification Committee will require all staff who failed to submit thei...
