FG,Yobe launch construction of 250 Renewed Hope estate in Damaturu



The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development in partnership with Yobe state Government has on Friday held a groundbreaking for the  commencement of construction of 250 units of Renewed Hope Housing Estate Project in Damaturu. 

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state while inaugurating the housing project commended the initiative by the federal Government,described it as a driver of economic growth and social development. 

The Governor appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to address the housing deficit and provide nigerians with decent accomodations especially in the state like Yobe that suffered decade long security challenges.

He revealed that Yobe state has suffered over ten years of insurgency that resulted to the distraction of public and private properties including houses and displacement of thousands of people.

Buni further said,"The Choice of our dear state for this project is timely and highly justified.This intervention may no doubt lay a great role in our post insurgency recovery plan and development agenda.

"This administration has constructed 2350 housing units in the 17 local government headquarters as well as other towns in the state and this remain the largest housing intervention since the creation of the State".

He appealed to the federal government to look in to their request for the Yobe state Government to acquire the 208 housing units earlier constructed in Damaturu by the federal government with a 50 percent discount on the cost of construction to enable them further allocate the houses to the victims of insurgency on owner occupier basis.

Earlier speaking at the ground breaking ceremony,the state minister of housing and urban development,Engr.Abdullahi Mohammed Gwarzo said,the 250 renewed hope estate in Yobe state comprises of 50 units of one bedroom semi detached Bangalore,150 units of 2 bedroom semi detached Bangalore,and 50 units of 3 bedroom semi detached Bangalore respectively.

He noted that,the housing units designed in such a way that makes its easy and affordable to people to obtain.

He charges the contractors handling the project to ensure that they build it according to specifications and expect them to deliver a quality job as they would not tolerate substandard work."We want you to have this work finish within the next 3 months.

"Today's ground breaking ceremony it's aligned with a larger vision of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he launched the renewed hope cities and the estate project earlier this year in Abuja"said the state housing minister.

He appreciates the effort of Yobe state Government for providing land for the estate project which provides about 30 percent of the project.

Buni attends Christmas Carol, pledges support for Christian fateful

9 Months After:5,029 Staff Fail to Submit Bio Data Forms in Yobe

Yusuf, Damaturu   A total of 5,029 out of 32,140 staff members in the Yobe State Government workforce have failed to submit their Bio Data forms nine months after the verification exercise in the state.   The Permanent Secretary of the Yobe State Public Service and Chairman of the Committee for the Generation of the Nominal Roll of Yobe State Civil Servants, Dr. Bukar Kilo, disclosed this on Wednesday while presenting the verification report to the State Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara Bularafa.   He stated that 27,111 out of the 32,140 total workforce participated in the exercise, while 5,029 staff members failed to submit their Bio Data forms, raising concerns about the authenticity of the staff records.   To address this issue, the committee has proposed the establishment of a Verification Committee.  According to Dr. Kilo, "The Verification Committee will require all staff who failed to submit thei...
