Yobe fiscal-board new Chair- Goni assumes-office

The newly appointed Executive Chairman of the Yobe State Fiscal Responsibility Board, Alhaji Goni Babagana, along with Permanent Members Alhaji Ari Kolomari and Alhaji Baba Mohammed Babaji, officially assumed office today, following their recent appointments by His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni.

During the traditional handover ceremony, the outgoing Executive Chairman, Alhaji Musa Kadi Amshi, and the outgoing Permanent Members, Alhaji Ali Garga Bulama and Alhaji Ibrahim Toshia, expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to serve the state over two terms of four years each.

The event, held at the organization's conference hall on AbdulSalami Abubakar Way in Damaturu, was attended by well-wishers who accompanied the newly appointed Executive Members and those congratulating the outgoing members on a successful tenure.

In his handover to Alhaji Goni Babagana, the outgoing Executive Chairman advised the new members to work diligently and sustain the achievements recorded during their tenure. He emphasized the board's primary function: ensuring the effective utilization of the state's financial resources in accordance with financial laws and regulations.

He presented the new Executive Chairman with a compendium and reference records to guide them in monitoring and regulating finances and assessing projects.

Alhaji Musa Amshi commended both the outgoing Permanent Members and the staff of the Board for their support during his tenure and urged the staff to extend the same support to his successor to achieve similar success.

In his remarks, Alhaji Goni Babagana praised the outgoing Executive Members for their successful tenure and assured that he and his team would maintain the standards set by his predecessors. He urged the staff to continue their support to build on the successes achieved by his predecessor.

He expressed appreciation to the State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, for entrusting them with the responsibility to serve in such positions, promising to justify the confidence placed in them by contributing to the growth and development of the state.

In his welcome address, the Secretary of the Board, Abbas Isa Bizi, highlighted the achievements of the outgoing Executive Members and congratulated them on a successful tenure. 

He also welcomed the newly appointed Executive Members and urged the Board's management staff to extend the same support and understanding to the new team, enabling them to achieve similar success in their respective roles.

Furthermore, he assured the incoming Executive Members of a robust working relationship with the Board of Directors and management staff.

In a goodwill message, the State Coordinator of the North East Development Commission, Prof. Ibrahim Ali Abbas, congratulated the outgoing Executive Members of the Yobe State Fiscal Responsibility Commission on a successful tenure. He remarked that the outgoing team established a strong foundation for the incoming Executive Members, enabling them to seamlessly continue the work and advance the Board's goals.

Prof. Abbas described the incoming Executive Chairman as a highly skilled and professional individual who excels in his field.

9 Months After:5,029 Staff Fail to Submit Bio Data Forms in Yobe

Yusuf, Damaturu   A total of 5,029 out of 32,140 staff members in the Yobe State Government workforce have failed to submit their Bio Data forms nine months after the verification exercise in the state.   The Permanent Secretary of the Yobe State Public Service and Chairman of the Committee for the Generation of the Nominal Roll of Yobe State Civil Servants, Dr. Bukar Kilo, disclosed this on Wednesday while presenting the verification report to the State Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara Bularafa.   He stated that 27,111 out of the 32,140 total workforce participated in the exercise, while 5,029 staff members failed to submit their Bio Data forms, raising concerns about the authenticity of the staff records.   To address this issue, the committee has proposed the establishment of a Verification Committee.  According to Dr. Kilo, "The Verification Committee will require all staff who failed to submit thei...
