Rev. Ahmed emerges Chairman, COCIN RCC Yobe

Reverend Ahmed Aliyu of Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) LCC Nguru, has emerged as the Chairman, COCIN RCC Yobe after keenly contested election at the RCC headquarters in Damaturu.
After the nomination and the election proper through a secret ballot system, Rev. Balami scored 5 votes, Garba Sarki scored 10 votes, while Rev. Ahmed Aliyu scored 18 votes and was declared the newly elected Chairman of the RCC.
Also Zakaria Etien of COCIN LCC Jajimaji was elected as the new Assistant Secretary of the RCC after being nominated alongside Rev. Garba Sarki, Rev. Paul Maina and Rev. Alphonsus Doka.
Earlier the Chairman of the Provisional Church Council (PCC Borno) Rev. Wayas Ishidi who took his Bible reading from Deuteronomy 1:9 charged the congress to ensure they elect God fearing leaders that would move the RCC forward.
The New Chairman, RCC Yobe, Rev. Ahmed Aliyu would be succeeding Rev. Tanko Haman who is retiring from the service of COCIN after successful years of service.
Rev. who served two terms of eight years has contributed to the development of the RCC by building office and the RCC residential near completion.
Rev. Aliyu who hails from Borno state had spent the larger number of his service years in Bauchi state as Leading Pastor before being transferred to Nguru in Yobe state.
