Yobe Murder Case:NCWS holds road walk,seek justice for Ammi

The National Council of Women's Societies,Yobe state branch has on Thursday organized a one day road walk to the State Ministry of justice seeking for justice for Ammi Mamman who was murdered in damaturu  on the early hours of Thursday the 4th of January 2024.

National Council of Women's Societies (NCWS)is a non-profit  organization that is committed to the cause and wellbeing of women and girls in the society,community and country at large.


The road walk which stated at exactly 10:am from 27th August stadium gate one in damaturu to ministry of justice located at the IBB secretariat and House of Assembly Complex was joined by Women groups and partners for solidarity.

During the protest, the women were seen carrying placards containing different messages to includes “Justice for Ammi","Justice be served“,"papretrators must be exposed ”and “No to violence against women and girls,"among others.


Yobe state Commissioner of humanitarian affairs and disaster management,Dr Maro Ahmad Amshi who led the road wall to ministry of Justice and the state house of Assembly said,they are seeking for justice for Ammi and felt that the Ministry of justice is the only channel that they have to come through.


Dr. Amshi stated that,they are also at the ministry of justice to seek for justice"We are aware you stood firm on issues on gender based violence ,if we should discribe what happened to Ammi ,if there is any word to describe what is above gender based violence this is the barbaric, uncivilized and in human to see that a fellow human being who called himself her husband,who is her half that decided to take her life.

"Honourable Attorney general sir,we are here to show our detest what happened and solicit to see that justice is done for our dear sister",said the Yobe Humanitarian Commissioner.

Response to their called for the justice for late  Ammi the Yobe state Attorney general and Commissioner of Justice,Barrister Sale Samanja said,this issues of Ammi Murder has touched every heart of Yobe state.

He assured the Members of the national council of women Societies (NCWS) that, ministry of justice is really a ministry of justice.

"I had you shouting justice for Ammi, Justice for Ammi,I assure you Ammi would get justice.The police are investigating the case now they have not finished their investigation I hope and I believe that a thorough investigation will be conducted in that case.

"We in our part in the ministry of justice we assure you that as long as we are here will ensure that justice is done to the case",said Yobe Attorney general.

The NCWS went further to Yobe state House of Assembly where they have delivered the same massage on Justice for Ammi.

A team from the Foundation mandated to carry out the payment set out in the early hours of Wednesday, 11th March 2026, visiting each of the 21 schools for the exercise.  The team first visited the Chana community and later proceeded to Godowoli and other villages, ending the exercise in Gadaka. Three volunteers in each of the schools were given the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira to cover their monthly stipends. Yobe L-PRES Project Hands Over Livestock Market to Geidam Community

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), a World Bank-funded program, has commissioned and handed over a modern livestock market to the Geidam local government area of Yobe State.  The market, located at the Nigeria-Niger border, is expected to boost livestock trade between the two countries and create jobs. The market covers a 400m x 400m area, with features including perimeter fencing, gates, security outpost, veterinary clinic, administrative block, solar-powered boreholes, and drinking points. Other amenities include loading and off-loading ramps, toilets, and a livestock weighing scale. Project Coordinator Adama Hussaini Madaki said the market would strengthen livestock trade and improve revenue generation. Yobe APC Exco Receive National Party Chairman Ganduje
