The newly appointed Acting Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Dr. Mohammed Goje, has declared that his leadership will transform the SSG's office into a bridge linking policy to action, decisions to outcomes, and governance to the aspirations of citizens.
Speaking on Monday after officially assuming duty, Dr. Goje outlined a clear roadmap centered on policy coordination, accountability, teamwork, and measurable results moving beyond the usual pledge of loyalty.
Describing the SSG's office as the "engine room of governance," he said it must drive administrative coherence and the effective functioning of the executive council.
"This responsibility demands not just accountability from the Secretary, but also integrity, foresight, and the ability to foster unity across the entire machinery of government," he stated.
He reassured Governor Mai Mala Buni of his total commitment and loyalty to his administration's policy direction for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous state.
Dr. Goje announced four core priorities; strengthening policy coordination across ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs); ensuring timely implementation of executive council decisions; promoting accountability and responsiveness in public service; and building a culture of teamwork across government.
He revealed plans to work closely with the Office of the Head of Service, all commissioners, secretaries, heads of MDAs, and other stakeholders to align government actions for maximum impact.
"Together, we must reinforce a system where policies are not only well conceived but effectively executed for the benefit of our citizens," he emphasized.
The new Acting SSG also stressed the need for collaboration beyond government, inviting development partners, civil society, and the private sector to support Governor Mai Mala Buni's broader development agenda.
He noted that modern governance requires inclusivity, adaptability, innovation, and a result-oriented approach principles that will guide his actions.
While acknowledging his predecessor's contributions, Dr. Goje framed his assumption of office as a continuation of service rather than a break from the past.
He called on all government officials and stakeholders to offer their support and cooperation, saying, "I look forward to working with everyone to ensure that this office serves the aspirations of our people."
