Yobe Team Set for National Hockey Super League in Kaduna


Yobe state make and female hockey team has set for National hockey super league in Kaduna state.

The week long National Hockey league which will be declares open on Saturday would host various hockey players across the states of the federation. 

Addressing the desert rollers queens(females team)and Desert rollers(male team)in Damaturu,the Commissioner state ministry of Youths and sports,Barma Shettima on behalf of Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni urged the contingents to be good ambassadors of the state.

Shettima stated that,the state is with them and will continue to give them all the necessary support that they required.

"I'm happy you have undergone series of training and re-training,so it's our hope that you will come out as the best team by God Grace" said the sport Commissioner.

Responding,the captain of the female hockey team,Caroline Elise promised to try their possible best to win the cup back to Yobe state.

It could be recalled that in 2023,the desert rollers queens played third position while the desert rollers played fouth position at the National hockey competition.

9 Months After:5,029 Staff Fail to Submit Bio Data Forms in Yobe

Yusuf, Damaturu   A total of 5,029 out of 32,140 staff members in the Yobe State Government workforce have failed to submit their Bio Data forms nine months after the verification exercise in the state.   The Permanent Secretary of the Yobe State Public Service and Chairman of the Committee for the Generation of the Nominal Roll of Yobe State Civil Servants, Dr. Bukar Kilo, disclosed this on Wednesday while presenting the verification report to the State Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara Bularafa.   He stated that 27,111 out of the 32,140 total workforce participated in the exercise, while 5,029 staff members failed to submit their Bio Data forms, raising concerns about the authenticity of the staff records.   To address this issue, the committee has proposed the establishment of a Verification Committee.  According to Dr. Kilo, "The Verification Committee will require all staff who failed to submit thei...
