Yobe State Closes 3 Markets Temporarily for Security Reasons

The Katarko, Kukareta, and Buni Yadi weekly markets in Yobe State have been temporarily closed due to operational reasons related to the ongoing counter-insurgency operation in the state.

According to Brig. Gen. Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd) PhD, Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Executive Governor of Yobe State, the closure aims to facilitate proactive engagements and consolidate the successes recorded so far.

He revealed ,the temporary measure is expected to improve the overall security situation in the affected areas and the state at large.While the decision may cause some inconvenience, it is deemed necessary for the collective interest and success of the operation.

"The state authorities have assured the public that efforts are underway to expedite the operation and minimize the impact of the temporary closure on citizens' well-being. 

"The public's support, cooperation, and understanding are crucial for the maximum success of the operation and the collective interest of peace and security in the state.

"The temporarily closed markets are expected to be reopened in the coming days, and all concerned parties have been reassured that the closure is a temporary measure,"he added
