Yobe Gov't ,NLC agree on N70,000 minimum wage

Yusuf The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Yobe state Council, on Friday signed an agreement on the implementation of the new national minimum wage of N70, 000, with the Yobe state government. Officials in attendance when the agreement was signed were the head of civil service, represented by the permanent secretary (public service); permanent secretary (establishment), and the state accountant-general. Others were the state chairman of the NLC, Comrade Muktar Musa Tarbutu; chairman, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Bulama Musa, and the chairman, Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE),Baba Shehu Mustapha. Ignore strike notice,it's fake- Yobe NLC declares

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu The attention of the NLC Yobe State Chapter has been drawn to a malicious and fabricated circular on social media platforms calling Yobe State civil servants to embark on a state wide strike. In a statement by the state NLC Chairman,Comrade Muktari Musa Tarbutu,said the fake news/circular is entirely false and without any basis. Advocacy:Yobe to establish schools for persons with special needs

 by Yusuf A Yusuf Determined to provide inclusive education that would impact society as a whole and carry the people with special needs along, Yobe state government has announced plans to establish additional secondary school for the people with disability in the state. This was made known on Monday by the Commissioner Ministry of basic and secondary education, Professor Adam Idriss, when he received a team of Community of Practice (CoPs)who paid him an advocacy visit in his office in Damaturu. Project trust:CoPs launches advocacy visit to MDAs in Yobe

The advocacy visits by the CoPs team which includes media,civil society organizations (CSOs), community- based organizations (CBOs) barrister and PLWD visited office of the Yobe State Auditor General and that of State Commissioner of water resources.  During the visit,the CoPs team and the MDAs discussed intensively on the implementation of the constituency projects,as well as importance of promoting transparency and accountability in developmental projects in the state. KACRAN alleges hijack of world bank project,"L-PRES"

Residents calls Gov't attention as herders farms destruction persist

  By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  Residents of Yobe State have called on the State Government to engage Hunters and other Vigilante Group so as to tackle the lingering issue of herders destructing farm products in the state. The called was made after a heels of complaints in the recent days by farmers. It's found out that many people lamented as a result of farmer/herder conflicts which forced many farmers harvesting unripe sorghum, beans and other farm products in the state. Reports indicated that many farmlands were destroyed by the herders in various local government areas in the state more particularly areas like Gulani, Gujba, Tarmuwa, Jakusko, Nangere, Damaturu, Bursari, Fune, Fika, Yunusari and Karasuwa.  Reports also indicated that the menace is yet to be curbed despite the efforts made by the state government, traditional rulers and concerned authorities in deploying security personnel to various areas as well as constituting dialogue committees. The principal expressed his mind in a separate interview during a media tour to the school led by the state NUJ Chairman Comrade Rajab Mohammed Ismail to see for themselves a kind of complete renovation done by the state government at the school. Landlord lock down APC state secretariat in Yobe

  The  State Secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Yobe has shut down by the owner of the building (landlord) following the party's failure to pay for due annual rent. The source further revealed that this is not the first time the party secretariat located in Damaturu, the state capital, was sealed; it also happened last year, 2023, as a result of late payment to the landlord  A source revealed that this is coming up as a result of the negligence of the party to pay the landlord when due. Gulani Chairman sympathises with Garin Tuwo fire victims

Dayyabu Ilu Njibulwa has sympathised with the people of Garin Tuwo over the recent fire incident that claimed life last night Monday 4th November 2924.  In a statement by the Chief information officer Gulani LGA,Ali Abdullahi Shishiwaji revealed that,the incident occurred at about 11.36pm in the village and the fire spread rapidly destroying many locally made huts for Almajiri in Tsangaya school. The Chairman sympathised with the victims and promised to set up a committee to investigate the root course of the fire incident.  He expressed dismay that the incident claimed a live praying God Almighty to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

NUJ Hails Tinubu for Appointing Oluyede as Acting COAS

After the nomination and the election proper through a secret ballot system, Rev. Balami scored 5 votes, Garba Sarki scored 10 votes, while Rev. Ahmed Aliyu scored 18 votes and was declared the newly elected Chairman of the RCC.
