Yusuf The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Yobe state Council, on Friday signed an agreement on the implementation of the new national minimum wage of N70, 000, with the Yobe state government. Officials in attendance when the agreement was signed were the head of civil service, represented by the permanent secretary (public service); permanent secretary (establishment), and the state accountant-general. Others were the state chairman of the NLC, Comrade Muktar Musa Tarbutu; chairman, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Bulama Musa, and the chairman, Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE),Baba Shehu Mustapha. This was made known on Monday by the Commissioner Ministry of basic and secondary education, Professor Adam Idriss, when he received a team of Community of Practice (CoPs)who paid him an advocacy visit in his office in Damaturu. The called was made after a heels of complaints in the recent days by farmers. It's found out that many people lamented as a result of farmer/herder conflicts which forced many farmers harvesting unripe sorghum, beans and other farm products in the state.   The  State Secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Yobe has shut down by the owner of the building (landlord) following the party's failure to pay for due annual rent. The source further revealed that this is not the first time the party secretariat located in Damaturu, the state capital, was sealed; it also happened last year, 2023, as a result of late payment to the landlord  A source revealed that this is coming up as a result of the negligence of the party to pay the landlord when due. Dayyabu Ilu Njibulwa has sympathised with the people of Garin Tuwo over the recent fire incident that claimed life last night Monday 4th November 2924.  In a statement by the Chief information officer Gulani LGA,Ali Abdullahi Shishiwaji revealed that,the incident occurred at about 11.36pm in the village and the fire spread rapidly destroying many locally made huts for Almajiri in Tsangaya school. The Chairman sympathised with the victims and promised to set up a committee to investigate the root course of the fire incident.  He expressed dismay that the incident claimed a live praying God Almighty to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
